How much do YouTubers make?
Public APIs cannot see YouTube Studio RPM, geography mix, or YPP eligibility. What we can do is take public view counts from channel videos or Shorts and multiply by RPM estimate bands. Treat the table as a scenario sheet, not a bank statement.
As of 2026-07-21 · Editorial planning scenarios only — not measured creator payouts. Long-form net RPM bands $1 / $4 / $10. Not Studio. Pair with channel video/shorts endpoints for real view samples.

Monthly ads scenarios (RPM estimates)
| Monthly views | Low RPM | Mid RPM | High RPM | Format note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100,000 | $100 | $400 | $1,000 | Long-form planning |
| 500,000 | $500 | $2,000 | $5,000 | Long-form planning |
| 1,000,000 | $1,000 | $4,000 | $10,000 | Long-form planning |
| 5,000,000 | $5,000 | $20,000 | $50,000 | Long-form planning |
| 10,000,000 | $10,000 | $40,000 | $100,000 | Long-form planning |
| 1,000,000 Shorts | $20 | $40 | $80 | Shorts planning (~$0.02–$0.08) |
Long-form RPM $1 / $4 / $10 net. Shorts RPM is typically cents, not dollars — use the Shorts money calculator for that band.
How we compute this
Pull recent long-form videos or Shorts for channels in the sample. Estimate monthly views from recent cadence. Apply net RPM bands for ads revenue share. Brand deals are separate and use sponsorship CPM math (see the sponsorship calculator).
- Endpoints
GET /v1/youtube/channel
GET /v1/youtube/channels/videos
GET /v1/youtube/channels/shorts
- Formula
- Estimated ads revenue ≈ (monthly views ÷ 1,000) × net RPM. Shorts use a lower RPM band than long-form. Brand deals are not included in the ads column.
- Sample
- Scenario rows by monthly view volume. RPM bands are planning assumptions ($1–$10 long-form net RPM cited as a wide band; Shorts much lower). Sample size: 6.
- Refresh
- Scenario table is editorial RPM bands (asOf stamp only). Not a live earnings panel. Methodology version 1.

FAQ
Is this what creators actually get paid?
No. Studio shows realized RPM after geography, seasonality, and ad fill. These are planning bands so you can size an opportunity from public views.
Do brand deals count?
Not in this table. Sponsorship fees usually dwarf ads for mid-size creators. Use the YouTube sponsorship calculator for CPM-style estimates.
What about Shorts?
Shorts ads share sits on a much lower RPM. Use /tools/youtube-shorts-money-calculator or GET /v1/youtube/channels/shorts for view samples.
How do I pull the underlying views?
GET /v1/youtube/channel for subscribers, then /v1/youtube/channels/videos or /shorts for public view counts on recent uploads.
