Your AI is guessing. This makes it look it up.

Ask for a follower count today and your AI either refuses or quietly invents one — its training data is months old and it can't open a browser. Social Fetch hands it a real tool to call, so the answer comes back with a source and a timestamp. Here's what people do with that.

More things people ask

  • Which of these three creators has the most engaged audience?
  • Summarise this YouTube video and pull out every claim it makes
  • Find Reddit threads where people compare us to [competitor]
  • What hashtags is this account actually using lately?

Add Social Fetch to your AI

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor once. Then ask there instead.

    https://api.socialfetch.dev/mcp

Under the hood it's an MCP server

MCP is the standard AI apps use to reach outside tools. Social Fetch is a hosted MCP server, so there is nothing to download and no API key to paste into a config file. You add one URL, approve access in your browser, and your assistant picks up a set of typed tools it can call on its own.

Server URL

https://api.socialfetch.dev/mcp

Add this URL once. If you only want a smaller tool list, the MCP docs cover scoped presets.

What your assistant actually calls

Ask in plain English and the model picks the tool. All 165 operations are available; here are five of the most used.

  • How many followers does @mrbeast have?

    tiktok_profile_get

Followers, following, likes, post count, verified flag

  • What are people on Reddit saying about us?

    reddit_search_get

Matching posts with scores, subreddits, and permalinks

  • What has this account posted this month?

    instagram_profile_posts_list

Captions, engagement counts, media URLs, timestamps

  • What is actually said in this video?

    youtube_video_transcript_get

The full transcript as plain text

  • Who is replying to this tweet?

    twitter_tweet_replies_list

Replies with authors, timestamps, and engagement

Coding in Cursor or Claude Code?

Add the Agent Skills alongside the server. They teach the harness which tool to reach for, so you get research workflows instead of one lookup at a time.

npx skills add social-freak-ltd/socialfetch -s socialfetch

One question is a lookup. A conversation is research.

Because the tools stay available for the whole chat, you can keep pulling the thread — search, then narrow, then read the comments, then pull the transcripts. Your assistant chooses the tool each time. You never name one.

  1. I'm launching a protein coffee brand. Who on TikTok is already posting about protein coffee?

    callstiktok_search_videos_listturn 1

24 videos from the last 30 days. Three accounts are doing most of the volume: @liftandbrew (890K), @macrocafe (412K), and @thecoldbrewcoach (156K). Engagement is well above their own averages on the recipe format specifically.

  2. Is @liftandbrew's audience actually in the US?

    callstiktok_profile_region_getturn 2

Mostly, yes — the account is registered in the US and the top comment locales skew US and Canada. Worth noting their following-to-follower ratio is unusually low, which is normal for an account that grew off one viral format.

  3. What are people complaining about in the comments on those videos?

    callstiktok_video_comments_listturn 3

Three themes keep repeating: the powder clumping in cold liquid, the price per serving compared with regular whey, and a lot of people asking whether it works with oat milk. The clumping complaint appears in roughly a third of the top comments.

  4. Pull the hooks from the five best-performing videos.

    callstiktok_video_transcript_getturn 4

All five open with a problem rather than the product — “stop paying $7 for this”, “I tried every protein coffee so you don't have to”, and three variations of a before-and-after. None of them name a brand in the first five seconds.

Illustrative session. Figures are examples, not live data.

Frequently asked

Do I need to code?

No. Try a lookup on this page, create a free account, then add Social Fetch in Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor. Ask in English.

What is MCP?

A standard way for AI apps to use outside tools. Social Fetch is a hosted connector — you add a URL once, sign in, and your assistant can look up public social data.

Does ChatGPT work?

Yes on Plus or Pro with Developer Mode (custom MCP connector). ChatGPT Free cannot add custom connectors. After we list in the ChatGPT Apps directory, setup gets even simpler.

Does Claude work on my phone?

Yes. Claude’s remote connectors work on web, Desktop, Cowork, and mobile once you add Social Fetch.

Can it see private accounts or DMs?

No. Only public information. It cannot post, message, or log into your social accounts.

How do credits work?

You get 100 free lookups. Most simple lookups cost 1 credit. Credits never expire. Same balance whether you use Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or the API.

What if the AI doesn’t use the tools?

Ask clearly (“look up this TikTok handle with Social Fetch”). In Cursor, install Agent Skills so the harness prefers real tools. Check that OAuth finished in your client’s connector settings.

I’m building an app — is this for me?

Use the scraper API and SDK on the homepage (165 endpoints). This page is for people who want to plug tools into an AI they already use. Builders: see the MCP page for scoped URLs and x402.
