# Social Blade alternative: Social Fetch vs Social Blade

Social Blade is where you go for history: daily follower charts going back years, growth figures and rankings, with a Business API for five platforms. Social Fetch doesn't have that archive or rankings. It returns live stats plus the posts, comments and transcripts behind them, and you store the history yourself.

## At a glance

| | Social Fetch | Social Blade |
| --- | --- | --- |
| What you get | Live profile stats, posts, comments, transcripts and engagement for public accounts | Profile statistics with daily history, growth, grades and rankings |
| History | From the day you start calling; you store each snapshot | 30 days by default; up to 3 years for YouTube and 10 years for other platforms |
| Rankings and top lists | Not available | Top lists per platform, sortable by followers, SB Rank and more |
| Platforms | 25, including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, X and Reddit | Business API: YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch |
| API pricing | 1 credit per profile lookup: about $0.00165 on the Scale pack | 1 credit per profile per 30 days; $0.50 a credit on small packs, as low as $0.06 on the largest |
| New-post alerts | Monitors send signed webhooks for TikTok, Instagram, X and Reddit | Not part of the Business API |

## Pricing (last verified 2026-09-24)

**What does creator stats data cost on each?** The two bill differently. A Social Blade credit buys one profile on one platform for 30 days, including up to 30 days of daily history, and re-checking it in that window is free. A Social Fetch credit buys one live lookup, so a daily check is 30 credits a month. Social Fetch is cheaper to start; Social Blade's larger packs close the gap, and only Social Blade can backfill history.

| | Social Fetch | Social Blade | Note |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Single YouTube channel lookup | ~$0.00165 | 1 credit ($0.06 to $0.50 depending on pack), then free re-checks for 30 days | |
| Track 1,000 creators daily for a month | 30,000 credits: ~$49 at the Scale pack rate, or the $79 plan (50,000 credits) | 1,000 credits: $500 at $0.50 each, $250 on a 5,000-credit pack, less on larger packs | |
| One year of past daily stats for a channel | Not available: history starts when you do | 2 credits (3 years: 3 credits; 10 years, non-YouTube: 5) | |
| Top channels by subscribers | Not available | First page free, then 20 credits a page | |
| Latest videos, comments or a transcript | 1 credit per page or transcript | Not in the Business API | |
| Smallest purchase | 100 free credits, then $14 for 1,000 | 100 credits for $50 | |

Social Blade figures from the [Business API page](https://socialblade.com/developers) (credit prices: $0.50 each for 100 to 1,000 credits, $0.25 for 5,000 to 7,500, as low as $0.10 and $0.06 on larger packages; up to 3 years of daily history for YouTube, 10 years for other platforms), the [API documentation](https://socialblade.com/developers/docs) (1 credit per profile per platform, valid 30 days; history tiers of 1, 2, 3 and 5 credits; top lists free for page 0, then 20 credits a page for 48 hours) and [Premium plans](https://socialblade.com/products/subscription) ($59.99 to $1,439.99 a year), all checked September 24, 2026. Social Fetch figures use the Scale pack rate ($379 for 230,000 credits, about $1.64 per 1,000; September 2026) unless noted; Starter is $14 for 1,000, and plans run $29 for 18,000, $79 for 50,000 and $225 for 150,000 credits a month. Credit costs per route from the [API reference](https://www.socialfetch.dev/docs/api/v1/youtube).

## What Social Blade does that we don't

Social Blade has been snapshotting public profiles for years. The website shows daily charts, growth over the last day to the last year, SB Rank, grades and top lists across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and Twitch, and it's free to browse; Premium plans ($59.99 to $1,439.99 a year) add longer tables, more favourites and bigger top lists.

Its Business API exposes the same data: a statistics endpoint per platform with daily history, and a top-list endpoint. The history is the part you can't recreate. Social Blade offers up to 3 years of daily data for YouTube channels and up to 10 years for the other platforms. Social Fetch has no archive and no rankings. If you need to know what a channel looked like in 2023, or who the top 100 are, use Social Blade.

## How the Social Blade API bills

You prepay credits. A statistics call costs 1 credit per profile per platform and returns up to 30 days of daily data; asking for 1 year costs 2 credits, 3 years 3 credits, and 10 years (not available for YouTube) 5 credits. Once you've paid for a profile, looking it up again within 30 days is free, so a daily refresh costs 1 credit a month. Top lists are free for the first page and 20 credits for each page after, with 48 hours to page through.

Credits cost $0.50 each for 100 to 1,000, $0.25 at 5,000 and 7,500, and Social Blade lists rates as low as $0.10 and $0.06 on larger packages. Calls for Social Blade's own accounts are free, which makes testing easy.

## What Social Fetch gives you instead

Social Fetch reads the live profile every time you call it: `GET /v1/youtube/channel` returns subscribers, views and video count; `GET /v1/tiktok/profiles/{handle}` returns followers, following, likes and posts. Each costs 1 credit. Social Blade's API stops at profile statistics. We also return the content behind the numbers: a channel's videos and Shorts (`/v1/youtube/channels/videos`), a TikTok profile's videos with per-video views and likes, comments and replies, and transcripts.

For engagement, `/v1/tiktok/profiles/{handle}/engagement` and `/v2/instagram/profiles/{profile}/engagement` (5 credits each) calculate average and median engagement rates from recent posts and flag the best and worst performers. See the [YouTube](https://www.socialfetch.dev/platforms/youtube), [TikTok](https://www.socialfetch.dev/platforms/tiktok) and [Instagram](https://www.socialfetch.dev/platforms/instagram) hubs for every route.

## Building your own history with Social Fetch

If you only need history from today onwards, you can build it. Call the profile route once a day for each account you track and store the counts with a timestamp. That's 30 credits per account per month: about $0.05 at the Scale pack rate. After a month you have a month of daily data; after a year, a year. It's your data in your database, with whatever fields and granularity you choose, but there is no way to fill in the time before you started.

[Monitors](https://www.socialfetch.dev/monitoring) cover the posting side. A monitor watches a TikTok profile's videos, an Instagram account's posts or reels, an X timeline or a subreddit, and sends a signed webhook with each new item, so you can log posts and their early engagement without running a poller. Monitors fire on new content, not on follower changes, so keep a scheduled profile call for the counts. Events are kept for 30 days; store the ones you want to keep. The [monitoring quickstart](https://www.socialfetch.dev/docs/monitors/quickstart) walks through the setup.

## Using both

They fit together well. Use Social Blade to backfill history and rankings for the accounts you care about, then Social Fetch for live stats, content, comments and new-post webhooks going forward, including on platforms Social Blade's API doesn't cover, such as X, Reddit and LinkedIn. If you don't need the past, Social Fetch on its own is usually cheaper at small volumes and adds the post-level data.

## When Social Blade is the better choice

- You need daily history from before you started tracking, up to 3 years for YouTube
- You need rankings, top lists, SB Rank or grades
- You want charts on a website, not an API
- You track many profiles once a day and buy large credit packs

## When Social Fetch is the better choice

- You need live stats on demand, not a daily snapshot
- You need the posts, comments and transcripts behind the numbers
- You want webhooks when a tracked account posts
- You need X, Reddit, LinkedIn or others among 25 platforms
- You're starting small: 100 free credits and a $14 pack vs $50 for 100 credits

## Verdict: History and rankings: Social Blade. Live data and content: Social Fetch.

Social Blade owns the past: years of daily stats, growth figures and rankings, with an API priced per profile per month. Social Fetch doesn't have that archive or any rankings. It returns live stats, posts, comments and transcripts across more platforms, sends webhooks when accounts post, and lets you build your own history from the day you start. If you need the past, buy it from Social Blade; if you need the present and what's in it, use Social Fetch.

## FAQ

### Does Social Blade have an API?

Yes. The Social Blade Business API has a statistics endpoint and a top-list endpoint for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and Twitch. You prepay credits: 1 per profile per platform, valid for 30 days of free re-checks.

### How much does the Social Blade API cost?

Credits cost $0.50 each in packs of 100 to 1,000, $0.25 at 5,000 and 7,500, and as low as $0.06 on the largest packages. A profile lookup is 1 credit for 30 days of history, 2 for a year, 3 for three years and 5 for ten years (not YouTube). Top-list pages after the first cost 20 credits.

### Can Social Fetch show historical follower counts?

Not from before you start. Social Fetch returns the live count on every call, so if you call `GET /v1/tiktok/profiles/{handle}` daily and store the result, you build your own history from that day. For earlier history, Social Blade is the source.

### Does Social Fetch have rankings like Social Blade?

No. There are no top lists, SB Rank equivalents or grades. Social Fetch is a lookup API for public accounts and their content.

### What data does Social Fetch return that Social Blade doesn't?

Content: videos, posts and reels with per-post counts, comments and replies, transcripts, and engagement audits calculated from recent posts. Also platforms outside Social Blade's API, such as X, Reddit, LinkedIn and Threads.

### Can Social Fetch alert me when a creator posts?

Yes. [Monitors](https://www.socialfetch.dev/monitoring) watch TikTok profiles, Instagram posts and reels, X timelines and subreddits, and send a signed webhook when something new appears. Each check is billed at the route's normal price. Monitors track new posts, not follower changes.

### Is Social Fetch cheaper than Social Blade?

For a few profiles or occasional lookups, yes: 1 credit is about $0.00165 at the Scale pack rate, and you can start with 100 free credits. For tracking many profiles daily, it's closer: 1,000 profiles checked daily is about $49 a month on Social Fetch, and $60 to $500 on Social Blade depending on pack size, where Social Blade also includes 30 days of history.
