# What identifiers do Snapchat routes accept?

The profile route takes the handle as a path segment — the name in `snapchat.com/@{handle}` — with or without a leading `@`. Handles can contain dots, hyphens, and underscores. The Spotlight routes take a full Spotlight URL in the `url` query param. A profile URL on a Spotlight route returns `400` and points you at the profile endpoint.
